Game Day Decisions: Start Carson Wentz Against the Bears

The Week 2 injuries, O-line holes, and backup starters that move your Sunday lineup. Five matchups, five calls, before inactives lock.

Game Day Decisions: Start Carson Wentz Against the Bears

Start Carson Wentz against the Bears. Kyler Murray is out with a concussion from Week 1, Wentz already scored three touchdowns in relief, and he finished around QB12 for that game. If you lost a quarterback or you are streaming, he is the add and the start.

Four more matchups shift the lineup board today: an offensive line down in Dallas, a thinned-out Dolphins pass rush, Drew Lock starting for Seattle, and a Raiders tight end job that is no longer Brock Bowers. Official inactives are not out yet, so treat every questionable player as a game-time watch.

Vikings at Bears: Wentz is the stream, and the backfield is a coin flip

Murray is out, Wentz starts, and JJ McCarthy is the QB2. If you need a quarterback, Wentz is the streamer, not an automatic swap for an established QB1.

Chicago's backfield stays a committee. D'Andre Swift (ankle/knee) and Kyle Monangai are both questionable and both expected to play after combining for over 100 rush yards in Week 1. Swift is the preferred start if active. If both play, this is a split, so Monangai is a bench or handcuff, not a second RB2. If Swift sits, Monangai moves up, with his own status still worth a check before lock.

Commanders at Cowboys: start Daniels even with Tunsil out

Jayden Daniels is active in Dallas and ranks around QB5 this week. Laremy Tunsil is not active: torn triceps, surgery, out indefinitely, with Brandon Coleman sliding to left tackle. Washington's pass protection is compromised, and the read is that Daniels sees more pressure.

Start him anyway. You are starting a dual-threat floor whose legs carry the projection even behind a patched line. The pressure is a reason to expect more scrambling, not a reason to sit a QB5.

Dolphins at 49ers: Chop Robinson is out, McCaffrey and Kittle are in

Miami's edge is thinner on the road. Chop Robinson is out with a concussion and Ronnie Harrison is out with a hamstring, so the Dolphins pass rush is weaker. The read is more clean time for the San Francisco passing game.

Christian McCaffrey is probable after cramps and a rest day in Week 1 and is expected to play. George Kittle is probable on a maintenance day; expect him to play, but confirm with inactives. Start both.

Seahawks at Cardinals: Lock starts for Seattle, McBride stays a start

Sam Darnold is out (hip/glute) and expected to miss Week 2, so Drew Lock starts for Seattle. The read is a downgrade for Seattle's pass catchers, and Lock is a last-resort quarterback stream behind Wentz.

Across the field, Trey McBride is probable on a rest-only designation, not an injury. He posted 9 catches, 95 yards, and a touchdown in Week 1. Start McBride on that usage.

Raiders at Chargers: Mayer is the TE stream, McConkey is a check-inactives

Brock Bowers is doubtful to out after meniscus surgery, likely sidelined into Weeks 4 and 5. Michael Mayer becomes the Raiders TE1. If you need a tight end, Mayer is the stream. Sit Bowers on the surgery report, with his official inactive still pending.

Ladd McConkey is trending out (rib/chest); one report lists him out, others questionable. Check the inactives before the 4:05 ET kickoff and keep a replacement ready. If McConkey is ruled out, Quentin Johnston is the Chargers receiver most likely to absorb the work, and a usable WR2 flex in that case.

The read

Start Carson Wentz against Chicago if you need a quarterback stream. Murray is out, the relief outing already had three touchdowns, and the job is his.
