Week 6 CFB Props (Saturday)
Arch Manning is at 210.5 against Oklahoma. Does the number hold?
Jaziun Patterson under 74.5 is the cleanest fade on the board: his season average sits at 32.4, and his best game stopped at 62. Jeremiah Smith over 150.5 and King Miller over 72.5 are the fun side of the card, which is where the trouble usually starts. Nobody ever ruined a Saturday by falling in love with an under. Overs have you sweating garbage time while asking a college kid to save your dumb ass.
Manning, John Mateer, and Raleek Brown give Red River three live numbers, while George MacIntyre's first start comes with a passing line well above his entire season total. Every play below has a named book, a timestamp where the packet supplied one, recent results, and an opponent number. Pit the expectations against the actual numbers, then decide how much bullshit you're willing to tolerate.
Quick reality check: This is information, not betting advice or a guarantee. Set a budget before kickoff, don't chase a loss, and call 1-800-GAMBLER if betting stops being fun.
Afternoon window
North Carolina at Pittsburgh
12:00 p.m. ET, ESPN. Pittsburgh -3.5 (-105), North Carolina +3.5 (-115), FanDuel. Total 47.5, over -106 / under -114.
Billy Edwards Jr. (QB, North Carolina): over 210.5 passing yards
FanDuel -114 - checked Friday 11:48 p.m. ET
Edwards has thrown for 232, 244, 135, and 209 yards, with 820 yards and a 205.0 average for the season. Pittsburgh has allowed 1,199 passing yards through five games, or 239.8 per game. Edwards wasn't on the October 8 availability report and was listed Active.
We believe Pittsburgh's defense gives him enough room to beat a number sitting just above his average.
Jordan Shipp (WR, North Carolina): over 58.5 receiving yards
FanDuel -114 - checked Friday 11:47 p.m. ET
Shipp's receiving log reads 71, 25, 68, and 109 yards, producing 273 yards and a 68.25 average. Pittsburgh's defense has allowed 239.8 passing yards per game, though the packet didn't provide a receiver-specific split. Shipp wasn't on the October 8 report and was listed Active.
The over has three useful game logs behind it; the 25 is the turd floating in the punch bowl.
Ja'Kyrian Turner (RB, Pittsburgh): under 70.5 rushing yards
FanDuel -112 - checked Friday 11:48 p.m. ET
Turner rushed for 39 yards against Miami (OH) and 65 against Virginia Tech, with three DNPs between those appearances. His average in games played is 52.0, while North Carolina has allowed 152.5 rushing yards per game. He returned against Virginia Tech and wasn't listed out or questionable on the October 8 report.
We believe 70.5 asks Turner to produce a season high after a stop-and-start opening month. Under.
Oklahoma at Texas
3:30 p.m. ET, ABC. Texas -7.5 (-110), DraftKings. Total 38.5, over -110 / under -110.
Arch Manning (QB, Texas): over 210.5 passing yards
FanDuel -114 - checked Friday 11:48 p.m. ET
Manning has thrown for 305, 195, 161, and 201 yards, giving him 862 yards and a 215.5 average. Oklahoma has surrendered only 490 passing yards through four games, or 122.5 per game, with individual allowances of 86, 111, 116, and 177. Manning wasn't on the October 8 SEC availability report.
We believe Texas can drag him over, but Oklahoma's pass defense is the reason this isn't a chest-out declaration from some drunk holding court near the dartboard.
John Mateer (QB, Oklahoma): over 186.5 passing yards
Caesars -115 - checked Friday 11:48 p.m. ET
Mateer's passing log reads 225, 189, 238, and 231 yards, with an 883-yard season total and a 220.75 average. Texas has allowed 687 passing yards through four games, or 171.8 per game, and is laying 7.5 points. Mateer wasn't on the October 8 SEC availability report.
Even though Texas has defended the pass well, we believe Oklahoma's expected game script keeps Mateer throwing long enough to reach 186.5.
Raleek Brown (RB, Texas): over 43.5 rushing yards
Caesars -117 - checked Friday 11:38 p.m. ET
Brown has rushed for 34, 54, 41, and 67 yards, totaling 196 on 48 carries with a 49.0 average. Oklahoma has allowed 462 rushing yards on 143 carries, or 115.5 per game and 3.23 per carry. Brown wasn't on the October 8 SEC availability report.
The number sits close to Brown's floor, so we believe ordinary work gets this home without requiring him to run like his pants are on fire.
Houston at Kansas State
3:30 p.m. ET, FOX. Kansas State -2.5 (-115), Houston +2.5 (-105), BetMGM. Total 55.5, over -105 / under -115.
Amare Thomas (WR, Houston): over 59.5 receiving yards
DraftKings +106 - checked Friday 11:47 p.m. ET
Thomas has produced 43, 50, 75, 29, and 133 receiving yards, giving him 330 yards and a 66.0 average through five games. Kansas State has allowed 106.3 passing yards and 15.3 points per game, though no receiver-specific defensive average was available. Thomas was listed Active and wasn't on the out or questionable reports.
We believe the plus price pays for the matchup discomfort, and 59.5 remains reachable without a circus catch bailing us out.
Rodney Fields Jr. (RB, Kansas State): over 59.5 rushing yards
DraftKings -112 - checked Friday 11:48 p.m. ET
Fields has rushed for 50, 18, 105, and 101 yards, totaling 274 at 5.6 per carry and 68.5 per game. Houston has allowed 65.4 rushing yards per game, with no running-back-specific split supplied. Fields was listed Active and wasn't named on the out or questionable reports.
This line sits inside a fight between Fields's production and Houston's defense. We believe his workload wins by a nose.
Conner Weigman (QB, Houston): under 215.5 passing yards
bet365 -115 - checked Friday 11:50 p.m. ET
Weigman has thrown for 239, 239, 283, 120, and 305 yards, with 1,186 yards and a 237.2 average. Kansas State has allowed only 106.3 passing yards per game. Weigman was listed Active and remained Houston's starter.
The game log screams over, but we believe Kansas State's defense turns 215.5 into a pain in the ass. We'll take the under.
Georgia Tech at Duke
3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2. Duke -6.5 (-115), Georgia Tech +6.5 (-105), BetMGM. Total 43.5, over -115 / under -105.
Justice Haynes (RB, Georgia Tech): over 82.5 rushing yards
FanDuel -114 - checked Friday 11:49 p.m. ET
Haynes has rushed for 64, 81, 141, and 107 yards, totaling 393 on 73 carries with a 98.25 average. Duke has allowed 54, 111, 73, and 17 rushing yards, for 255 overall and 63.75 per game. Haynes was listed Active, while Georgia Tech running back Malachi Hosley was listed Out.
Even though Duke's rush numbers are nasty, we believe Haynes's production and Georgia Tech's thinner backfield keep the over alive.
Walker Eget (QB, Duke): over 162.5 passing yards
FanDuel -114 - checked Friday 11:49 p.m. ET
Eget has thrown for 131, 206, 202, and 182 yards, producing 721 yards and a 180.25 average. Georgia Tech has allowed 124, 148, 102, and 396 passing yards, or 192.5 per game. No injury tag was found for Eget, while Duke quarterback Lawrence Gardner was listed Out.
We believe 162.5 is low enough to survive a normal Duke passing day, which is a blessedly boring sentence on this card.
Jeremiah Hasley (TE, Duke): over 32.5 receiving yards
FanDuel -114 - checked Friday 11:49 p.m. ET
Hasley has receiving games of 36, 53, 88, and 18 yards, with 195 yards and a 48.75 average. Georgia Tech has allowed 192.5 passing yards per game, though no tight-end-specific split was found. Hasley had no injury tag in the packet.
We believe three catches worth of ordinary damage can settle this without turning Hasley into the main character.
Michigan State at Illinois
3:30 p.m. ET, FS1. Illinois -2.5 (-113), Caesars. Total 48 (-110), Caesars.
Katin Houser (QB, Illinois): under 244.5 passing yards
Caesars -114 - checked Friday 11:48 p.m. ET
Houser has thrown for 182, 271, 305, 263, and 225 yards, producing 1,246 yards and a 249.2 average. Michigan State has allowed 905 passing yards through five games, or 181.0 per game. Houser wasn't on Illinois's Thursday report.
We believe the defense matters more than the season average here. Under 244.5, and don't let the shiny 305 talk you into doing something stupid.
Alessio Milivojevic (QB, Michigan State): over 183.5 passing yards
Caesars -115 - checked Friday 11:47 p.m. ET
Milivojevic's log reads 247, 170, 123, 208, and 103 yards, leaving him at 851 yards and 170.2 per game. Illinois has allowed 1,275 passing yards through five games, or 255.0 per game. Milivojevic wasn't listed on the injury report, while quarterback Cam Fancher was questionable.
The quarterback's average says under, the defense says over, and we believe Illinois is the louder asshole in that argument.
Jaziun Patterson (RB, Michigan State): under 74.5 rushing yards
Hard Rock Bet -115 - checked Friday 11:47 p.m. ET
Patterson has rushed for 23, 23, 0, 54, and 62 yards, totaling 162 on 44 carries with a 32.4 average. Illinois has allowed 126.8 rushing yards per game, while Michigan State running back Cam Edwards was listed Out. Patterson wasn't listed on the injury report.
Even with the backfield opening, 74.5 asks for production Patterson hasn't shown. This is the card's cleanest under.
California at Virginia Tech
3:30 p.m. ET, ACC Network. Virginia Tech -10 (-110), California +10 (-110), DraftKings via VegasInsider. Total 53.5, over -108 / under -112.
Luke Reynolds (TE, Virginia Tech): over 59.5 receiving yards
FanDuel -114 - checked Friday 11:46 p.m. ET
Reynolds has receiving games of 93, 15, 107, 108, and 50 yards, totaling 373 with a 74.6 average. California has allowed 173.4 passing yards per game, and the packet didn't include a tight-end split. Reynolds was listed Active by Covers and ESPN.
We believe his role gives 59.5 enough breathing room, though the 15-yard Boston College game keeps the champagne in the fridge.
Maryland at Ohio State
4:15 p.m. ET, Big Ten Network. Ohio State -33.5 (-110), Maryland +33.5 (-110), FanDuel. Total 56.5, over -114 / under -106.
Jeremiah Smith (WR, Ohio State): over 150.5 receiving yards
bet365 -115 - checked Friday 11:49 p.m. ET
Smith's receiving log reads 151, 164, 85, 217, and 206 yards, giving him 823 yards and a 164.6 average. Maryland has allowed 198.4 passing yards per game. Smith was listed Active, had no injury shown by Action Network, and wasn't on the October 8 out or questionable list.
Even though the spread could kill the late targets, we believe Smith can do enough damage before Ohio State puts the game in storage.
Chris Durr Jr. (WR, Maryland): over 54.5 receiving yards
FanDuel -112 - checked Friday 11:50 p.m. ET
Durr has produced 44, 103, 109, 56, and 149 receiving yards, totaling 461 with a 92.2 average. Ohio State has allowed 840 passing yards through five games, or 168.0 per game, while surrendering 12.6 points per game. Durr was listed Active and wasn't named on Maryland's out or questionable lists.
We believe the expected deficit keeps the ball coming his way, even if the scoreboard looks like it needs adult supervision.
Tennessee at Arkansas
4:15 p.m. ET, SEC Network. Tennessee -13.5 (-110), DraftKings. Total 51.5, over -108 / under -112.
DeSean Bishop (RB, Tennessee): under 123.5 rushing yards
FanDuel -114 - checked Friday 11:49 p.m. ET
Bishop has rushed for 97, 147, 42, 34, and 220 yards, totaling 540 at 6.1 per carry and 108.0 per game. Arkansas has allowed 730 rushing yards through five games, or 146.0 per game, with individual totals of 40, 140, 254, 65, and 231. Bishop wasn't on Thursday's Tennessee availability report.
The 220 against Auburn is real, but it doesn't make 123.5 a modest ask. We believe the under survives unless Arkansas gets bulldozed again.
George MacIntyre (QB, Tennessee): over 204.5 passing yards
FanDuel -114 - checked Friday 11:49 p.m. ET
MacIntyre enters his first career start with passing games of 56, 6, and 86 yards, totaling 148 on 14 completions in 20 attempts. Arkansas has allowed 970 passing yards, or 194.0 per game. Tennessee quarterback Faizon Brandon was questionable with a right-shoulder injury, while MacIntyre wasn't on the injury report.
This play requires belief in the new role, because the existing stat line isn't carrying the suitcase. We believe the start and matchup can produce the jump.
KJ Jackson (QB, Arkansas): under 210.5 passing yards
FanDuel -114 - checked Friday 11:49 p.m. ET
Jackson has thrown for 267, 139, 212, 309, and 111 yards, totaling 1,038 with a 207.6 average. Tennessee has allowed 813 passing yards through five games, or 162.6 per game, with 5 interceptions against 2 touchdowns. Jackson wasn't on Thursday's Arkansas report.
We believe Tennessee's pass defense keeps him below a number already sitting above his season average. Under.
Night window
USC at Penn State
7:30 p.m. ET, NBC and Peacock. Penn State -1.5 (-107), USC +1.5 (-114), bet365. Total 54.5, over -113 / under -107.
Jayden Maiava (QB, USC): under 253.5 passing yards
FanDuel -114 - checked Friday 11:49 p.m. ET
Maiava has thrown for 286, 349, 261, 277, 326, and 245 yards, totaling 1,744 with a 290.7 average. Penn State has allowed only 598 passing yards through five games, or 119.6 per game. Maiava was listed Active and wasn't on Thursday's injury report, though receivers Trent Mosley and Terrell Anderson were questionable.
His own log hates this under, but the matchup is the argument. We believe the matchup wins.
King Miller (RB, USC): over 72.5 rushing yards
bet365 -115 - checked Friday 11:49 p.m. ET
Miller has rushed for 63, 45, 128, 102, 74, and 81 yards, totaling 493 at 5.2 per carry and 82.2 per game. Penn State has allowed 866 rushing yards on 180 carries through five games, or 173.2 per game. The 413-yard outlier came against Northwestern, so it shouldn't be treated as Penn State's normal weekly allowance; Miller was listed Active and wasn't on Thursday's report.
We believe the ordinary version of this matchup still favors Miller over 72.5. No miracle required.
The read
The best separation between line and record belongs to Patterson under 74.5. Houser under 244.5 follows the same shape: his average is close to the line, but Michigan State's defense has allowed 181.0 per game.
Smith and Miller carry the best over cases. Smith averages 164.6 against a line of 150.5, and Miller gets a Penn State run defense allowing 173.2 per game. The Northwestern outlier makes that defensive average look worse than an ordinary week, but Miller's own 82.2 average still clears the market number.
MacIntyre is the bar-fight play. His full passing record is 148 yards, yet FanDuel posted 204.5 for his first career start against an Arkansas defense allowing 194.0 per game. The new role creates the case; the old numbers don't. Bet accordingly, which is another way of saying don't act shocked if the weird one gets weird.
Cut, and why
The packet didn't supply another player with a complete, publishable combination of line, book, price, status, and supporting game log. No extra name gets smuggled in because somebody looked fun on television.
Where books disagreed on a line, this card uses the book and price named in each header and drops the rest. Odds were re-pulled late Friday night, and four plays (Sayin, Becht, Overton, Grunkemeyer) were cut because their lines moved or disappeared enough to erase the edge.
One-sided rows stayed one-sided. No under price was invented for Manning, MacIntyre, Thomas, Fields, Haynes, Eget, Hasley, or Reynolds. Making up the other half of a market because the paragraph looks prettier is how a betting card turns into fan fiction.
