Week 9 Thursday Night Football: Jaguars at Ravens

The rest can stay on the bench.

Jacksonville visits Baltimore on Thursday, November 5, with kickoff at 8:15 p.m. ET.

Starts

Trevor Lawrence, QB, Jaguars

Start Lawrence. He played every offensive snap in Weeks 5 and 6, attempted 39 and 41 passes, and added three rushes in each game.

That’ll do.

Bhayshul Tuten, RB, Jaguars

If he’s active, start him.

Before the Week 8 blowout emptied the bench, Tuten handled 18 of Jacksonville’s 25 running back opportunities through three quarters. That’s the backfield.

Parker Washington, WR, Jaguars

The Week 8 blowout dragged down his final line, but he still ran ahead of every Jaguars receiver before the starters came out.

Start Washington over Jakobi Meyers and Brian Thomas Jr. The usage already settled that argument.

Brenton Strange, TE, Jaguars

Start Strange.

Derrick Henry, RB, Ravens

Henry remains Baltimore’s lead runner with 49 touches over the last three games, an average of 16.3 per game.

Baltimore’s line has two concerns, with Roger Rosengarten Questionable because of an ankle injury and John Simpson Questionable with a back injury. Henry doesn’t need a perfect line or a settled quarterback to justify this call. Start him.

Zay Flowers, WR, Ravens

Start Flowers and accept that the evening may occasionally resemble a man trying to open a beer with a wet mitten.

Sits

Baltimore Quarterbacks

Leave the slot empty before inventing certainty that isn’t in the reporting.

Jakobi Meyers, WR, Jaguars

Sit him. Washington has the better role, and Meyers’ hamstring adds another way for this to go wrong.

Brian Thomas Jr., WR, Jaguars

The workload is. Sit him.

Chris Rodriguez Jr., RB, Jaguars

Rodriguez is Questionable with a hand injury and has averaged seven touches per game during the recent three-game window. He’s a contingency behind Tuten, not a start alongside him.

If Tuten plays, Rodriguez sits.

Justice Hill, RB, Ravens

His snap share has risen while Henry’s has fallen, but that produced only 5.3 touches per game over the last three.

The eight targets and 31% target share from Week 8 came amid quarterback injuries and a negative game script. Projecting that forward would be fantasy malpractice with nicer shoes. Sit Hill.

Mark Andrews, TE, Ravens

Strange has the stronger recent receiving workload and the settled quarterback. Sit Andrews.

Rashod Bateman and Ja’Kobi Lane, WRs, Ravens

Bateman has an 8.8% target share over the last three games. Neither owns enough volume to absorb Baltimore’s quarterback mess.

Flowers is the Ravens receiver to start. Bateman and Lane sit.
